Innovative and environmentally friendly: the Holzhof choice

We prioritise sustainable and eco-friendly materials, supporting the green transition we initiated in 2021, driven by our vision of a greener planet.Quality materials are central to our mission of creating play equipment and street furniture that combine design, safety, and sustainability. We use only carefully selected materials, such as certified wood, recycled and recyclable polyethylene, and highly durable aluminium, in order to ensure long-lasting, eco-friendly products that blend naturally with their environment. Every component is built to last, reducing environmental impact while maximising user safety and comfort.

POLYETHYLENE

Holzhof has successfully and enthusiastically used polyethylene for many years to manufacture most components of its playground equipment. This material's excellent mouldability and superior properties have allowed us to produce a wide variety of shapes through rotational moulding.

ALUMINUM

Holzhof uses profiles made by cold extrusion in aluminum alloy EN A W – 6060, compliant with current regulations, then painted with non-toxic epoxy powders.Lightness and durability are just some of the advantages of this material which, with the same volume, weighs only one third of steel. Green, thanks to the ease with which it can be recycled, it allows greater protection of environmental resources, a topic that Holzhof has always particularly cared about. Almost one third of the aluminum consumed worldwide today is produced by recycling scrap.

BLACK LOCUST

Black locust wood is elastic, highly durable, and capable of withstanding sudden changes in weather conditions, such as wet and dry cycles. The wood has a widely varied colouration and tends to darken with vaporization; it is well suited to processing, finishing and polishing operations.

HEAT TREATED WOOD

Free from chemicals and completely recyclable at the end of its life, the wood is enhanced through a controlled pyrolysis process that heats it to high temperatures, altering the cell walls to increase its durability.

PINEWOOD

Holzhof uses certified timber mainly from northern Sweden, treated in autoclaves at our own facility using vacuum-pressure impregnation techniques. This treatment, applied after processing such as cutting or shaping, ensures even absorption of water-soluble salts, making the wood resistant to weather and pests in compliance with European standard UNI EN 351-1.

SPRINGS

Holzhof uses top-quality steel springs provided by Eibach, a globally recognised leader in the field. These springs are tested to rigorous safety standards, and are coated with a protective finish that resists corrosion, UV rays, and harsh weather, ensuring top performance and long-term durability.

ROPES AND NETS

The nets and ropes we use are made from highly durable, plastic-coated steel cables with a diameter of 16 mm. User safety is the focus of all our work and research. The connecting elements and eyelets are pressure-welded to the ropes to prevent accidental opening or unauthorised tampering.
